Programs Activities in Rotaract club during the Academic Year 2012 – 2013

1. ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAMME – BULLS EYE STICKING

Our Rotaract Students Volunteered in the Road Safety Awareness Programme along with Traffic Police, Mayiladuthurai Division on 4th January 2013 near Municipal Office. About 1000 Bull’s Eye stickers were pasted on the head lights of the proceeding vehicles of Sembanar Koil- Mayiladuthurai route. The volunteers shouted slogans to create necessary awareness among public. After 1.30 pm our rotaract members participated in the traffic awareness programme conducted at our college. Mr. VIJAY Praveen Lurthu, Traffic Inspector Participated as the resource person.

2. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Programme

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), the leadership training program coordinated by Rotary Club of Mayiladuthurai Kings was conducted at our College on 30.01.13 by Mr. Charan. More than 40 Participants were chosen for their leadership potential. The participants learnt leadership skills through practice. The RYLA program covered the following core topics:

1. Fundamentals of leadership
2. Ethics of positive leadership
3. Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
4. Problem-solving and conflict management
5. Rotary's purpose and service to the community
6. Building self-confidence and self-esteem

3. Free EYE Check up Programme

300 senior citizens of the Karuvalakkarai Melur village were given Free-check up and 100 free spectacles were distributed in the programme organized by Arvind EYE hospital, Pondy in which our ROTARACT members assisted in providing the facilities to the villagers.
